Good Ben? Bad Ben?

In LOST episode 4.8, "Meet Kevin Johnson", we find out how Michael makes his return to the series. Driven by guilt and the in-ability for him to end his own life, good'ole Mike agrees to thwart the evil doings of Mr. Widmore.

The Oceanic 6 - oops we forgot about Aaron!

Okay, my blog about episode 4.8 coming later today. I just wanted to mention that in the preview for the next episode, it was revealed who the Oceanic 6 are: Jack, Kate, Hugo, Sayid, Sun, and Aaron. The Aaron reveal changes things a bit, and creates a hole in the storyline. Remember how Kate's mom really wanted to see her grandson? Wouldn't Aaron's Oceanic 6 status make it publicly known that he is NOT Kate's natural born child? *confused face*

Hey Juliet, what did the 5 fingers say to the face?...SLAP!

Oh no you di'ent! I loved the scene when Sun gave a little punishment to Juliet, WHAP! Was it just me or did it feel like Sun did it for all the Lost fans?

Episode 4.7, “Ji Yeon”, was my favorite episode of the season thus far. I was totally fished-in on the flash-back/forward mix-up. I even panicked at the end when Hurley showed up at the end scene, “NO WAY!!! IT CAN’T BE HURLY’s BABY!!!” LOLz I was confused for a second!

Lost's love dodecahedron gets even more complicated

In episode 4.6 we find out who "The Other Woman" is, Juliet. She seems to get involved with men who have more than one woman in mind. Her late-husband was cheating on her, Jack is in love with Kate, Goodwyn was a married man...hrm, I wonder who Ben's "Other Woman" could be?

On Thursdays, LOST is my "Constant" - Melcolm's EP4.5 thoughts

The whole business about finding a "constant" is all bunk to me, but I thought the episode was well written and infused enough sci-fi elements to keep me amused. It was like watching a chick-flick and a Twilight Zone episode all at once...did anybody count how many times the phrase "I love you" was said at the end?

"Eggtown"... Doug's thoughts

Ok, here's what I'm thinking about "Eggtown" (4.4):

1. The OMG moment: who saw the Aaron revelation coming?! I love these kicks in head at the end of each episode this year.
2. Why was Jack reluctant to see Aaron? Is Aaron Jack's baby half-brother?
3. What's going to happen to the helicopter? Will it fly into a time warp or crash and kill someone?
4. Why did Miles want the money from Ben? Why did he ask for such a precise amount? Where is Ben going to get the money?
5. Now we know who the "he" is that Kate spoke of at the airport meeting with Jack at the end of Season #3.
6. What did the guy yell at Kate when she was entering the courthouse?
7. Why did Jack say there were only 8 survivors of 815? As Kate points out, he's telling a story or lying... right? Who were the other 2?
8. As our mystery friend reported... the book shows up!! James had it!!
9. Will Miles blow up? Will Kate's mom die? Who will "Scooby Doo" Hurley again?

I just got punched in the face by EP4.2

I loved the first two episodes of Lost this season! They were both well-paced and had me begging for the next bit of mysterious information to chew on. Right when the series made you think there was a logical explanation for everything (getting rid of the sci-fi/supernatural factor), it punches you in the face with a whole new slew of questions.

Last night's episode introduced a few new characters. We learn that Naomi was responsible for getting a team on and off the island in a mission to find Ben (for what?):

1. Miles - Ghostbuster - He has powers to communicate with the dead. I'm assuming he is part of the team because he might be able to get information from the spirits of the island that would lead them to Ben.

Thoughts before tonight...

• ABC has given us two new promotional video clips for the Valentine's show. I can't post them until 10:00PM tonight.

• Is there a full-fledged ARG starting with this season? The FlyOceanicAir.com and Find815.com sites seem to suggest this.

• Two shows in and we've probably got at least 5 new characters (does Naomi revive?)... the new parachuters, the creepy guy from Oceaninc and anyone I'm forgetting.

• In case you missed 'em, there were a few Easter Eggs in last week's episode... BuddyTV.com has them HERE

It's the beginning of the end (and it's good stuff)

What a great start to our new season. I'm hooked all over again.

I was shocked at Charlie's visit to Hurley, when the poor guy is once again hiding out in a mental institution (how sad is it that such a place is where Hurley feels safest?). Yes, we've seen the dead wander around the island, but to see Charlie show up to deliver a message in the real world? It got me.

So what's up with that?

Lost Espisode 4.2, Wow!...or Not.

We haven't even seen Episode 4.1 and I'm already talking about Episode 4.2.
My sources are usually correct so it shouldn't suprise you that I've seen the rundown for Episode 4.2. I have mixed feelings about it. It does move the story along, but I'm not as excited as I thought I would be. I'll speak with Doug and Johna today to find out if we should post the new spoiler.

GGGGGGAHHHH!

Wow, that was great...like a action packed mini-movie.

I'm gonna have to sleep on it to collect my thoughts.

I'm really hoping that the future scenes play a big part of season 4.

Update: TheTailSection.com has evidence that Charlie DID NOT die: the song he was working on was playing on Jack's radio when he pulled up to the funeral parlor. HMMM.

As everyone pointed out... it was a Nirvana song! End Update

Actually, now that I think about it, outside of the Tom and the random baddies on the beach and in the "Looking Glass", did any real character REALLY die?

It's the ultimate cliffhanger!

THE_ANSWERS

After watching last night's show (which was more encompassing that I thought it would be), I am glad to finally be able to put these things to rest:

• The electro magnetic burst from the hatch, and nothing else, caused the plane to crash. That's the definitive answer.

The Losties are not, not, not, not, NOT in Purgatory.

Things still left up in the air:

• The smoke monster. Although the producers did say they thought it was probably collecting thoughts from the people it encountered.

• That big four-toed foot statue. They didn't even mention that.

Charlie's Grill

Anyone else notice how Charlie's teeth seem to have straightened and whitened since he's been on the island? Evangeline must love this hobbit!

H

Spinning on 'Greatest Hits'

I figured Charlie was a goner, what with the flashbacks and the present-day action reminding us why we liked him in the first place. It's so Lost to show a character's vulnerability and strengths before sending him to the chopping block. Loved the surprise that the station isn't flooded, but does have even more unknown players who are armed and dangerous.

Other thoughts:

Ben bugs out: When Ben returned to camp, it seemed like he wasn't even trying to hide the crazy anymore. His zeal for capturing or killing pretty much everyone seemed to alarm his little gang. It made me wonder how long even a freaky-deaky weird-science-style cult was going to keep listening to his orders.

Man with a plan: Was intrigued by Jack's sudden openess and the development of a potentially effective plan, but am still in wait-and-see mode with him. It's been widely circulated that the season finale will feature Jack-centric flashbacks of considerable significance. I'm curious and looking forward to a Jack story more than I have in some time.

Desmond's visions: For a mysterious ability over which he has no control, Desmond is certainly trusting of his visions being accurate and worthy of action. What to make of the fact that his vision for Charlie was completely off? I still trust Desmond, but don't trust his supposed "psychic" ability. It seems more likely that speculation that these visions are manipulation by outside forces is correct.

Charlie's hits: I'm with Doug, it was incredibly touching to see Charlie reflect on the high points of what he sadly dubbed his "excuse" for a life. Sniff. One odd note, this show has gone to such extremes with all the evil dads, that I was actually scared during the pool scene with kid Charlie -- I thought at first his dad was going to let him let sink just to teach him to swim. It was nice to see a positive family moment for a change.

Overall, this episode really moved the plot forward and got us in position for confrontations to come in the finale. It seems increasingly clear that the crash survivors aren't stranded so much as they are imprisoned, and this distinction is going to be a huge part of the show going forward I think.

This ep ignored Locke's fate, which I expected, but here's hoping some answer on Locke is coming next week. It would be too cruel to make us wait until 2008 to know!

Speaking of cruel, loved the little exchange where Karl threw Juliet under the bus ("They already know, but thanks, Karl"). Ha. The humorous character bits in the midst of all the outlandish storylines have always been a part of why I love Lost so.

'Greatest Hits' was adequately creepy

I'm gonna have to have therapy to come down from the gloom and doom of the 'Greatest Hits' episode. It's had such a sense of foreboding, gloom and complete sadness... great stuff

I think the show was a perfect set-up for the events to transpire next week. It's nice to get all the technical points out of the way before the "you-know-what" hits the fan.

What I noticed:

• No real mysteries to have to decipher, just straightforward storytelling.
• Rose and Bernard are back... we complain about their disappearance in the podcast and BAM they show up. HMMMM.
• The 'Alice in Wonderland' references are back. The underwater station is the "Looking Glass" with a symbol of a white rabbit in the Dharma logo.
• Another white rabbit (see above)
• Jack looked really old... compare Mr. Fox to season one, he looked 10 years older in 'Greatest Hits'
• Charlie's story was really sad. Made even sadder by the fact that he valued the five BEST moments in his life. When was the last time we saw flashbacks that were uplifting, not depressing?
• Nadia is back AGAIN and she met Charlie.
• Apparently you can create a city-leveling explosion on the island and not many people will notice... this has been proven before.
• In the past Charlie had lied about not being able to swim. Obviously he's a great swimmer. Why lie?
• Thank goodness we've got a whole new crop of characters to deal with in the Looking Glass. I was getting tired of the current 10,000 cast members.

Bring on the final episode!!

Wow!

I'm still light-headed from 'The Man Behind the Curtain.' That was great-show greatness!

Brian K. Vaughan (the comic writer brought in for story development on the show) is really helping make this season a knockout. I can't remember a show with so many home-run episodes in one season.

Here's what I noticed or wondered about:

• What happened to Ben's friend Annie?
• What's with Annie's dolls?
• The deadly fence seemingly can be set to "stun"
• There are white rabbits on the island ('Alice in Wonderland'?)
• The dark sand in, and around, Jacob's cabin... could it be the smokey nano-bots/monster in sleeping state?
• Could smokey/monster be Jacob?

Really the only thing I'm still really worried about is:

Who built that four-toed foot statue-thing?

May 9, 2007

Freaked out by The Man Behind the Curtain

Locke dead from a gunshot wound? Please, nooooo....we've been through so much with him on a crazy journey from the beginning, and I'm not ready to lose what he brings to the table.

This episode freaked me out. I did not see Ben turning on Locke to that extent coming at all. Here's hoping Locke will be get a reprieve and make it through somehow.

Ben is more ruthless (and nutty) than I had imagined. Killing his own father (sitting right there with him, too, not even doing it from afar) and being in on the mass murder of his little village -- ice cold. Especially if Annie, his childhood bud, was part of the purge (who knows at this point).

Per usual, everything we are told just brings up more questions. (For one, what's up with Richard staying forever young -- do original recipe Islanders not age? The encounter with Jacob -- total put-on by Ben, an insane Ben projecting, some actual manifestation of a real being known as Jacob? What is the real agenda of the people we know as Others, who appear to be putting on a good show about still being Dharma doing their thing?) But I don't care, I am loving the ride and can't believe we are closing in on the end of Lost for the entire year.

And if you are still wondering: Am I crazy, or did some kind of figure show up during the Jacob scene? A figure could be glimpsed in the shadows, it helps to pause the DVR and go really slowly to check it out. Here's a link to my favorite screencaps site, which got the Jacob images up pronto.

The Brig

Wow, what an intense and involving episode. This has been a really great season, dating from the big episode break. On to the specific points to praise and ponder:

The Others get creepy again: After so much faux-suburbia doings, it was cool to see the Others regain a bit of their strange, inhuman spookiness. I found the scene where they gathered around to watch the execution of EvilLockeDaddy -- ultimately turning away in disappointment -- to be quite chilling, especially given the children from the plane crash taking it all in. It was just very cult-like and strange. These folks obviously think whatever grand mission they are on justifies all sorts of behavior, including the willy-nilly killing of anyone doesn't get their "good person" seal of approval.

Along those lines, Ben's matter-of-fact description to Locke of the raid-to-come on the beach was both scary and funny. The tone struck me as something like: "Oh Locke, don't make that face, we abduct pregnant women all the time and it's fine. You 815 people make such a fuss about every little experiment we do, honestly."

D.O.C.

Good stuff! I feel like we are really on a roll (leading up to, of course, the sad moment when Lost abandons us for the summer).

Patchy lives! Loved Jin kicking his butt, and retrieving the purloined phone. Also loved the bit where Hurley is just la-la-la telling all to Patchy before taking in the shut-up-already eyerolls from Charlie.

Seems like we are getting a big nod toward the island having some sort of healing power, (not just for chronic conditions, as has been emphasized quite a bit already) but a force that allows people to recover from even sudden, catastrophic injury. Of course, it is applied so inconsistently that it is hard to get a handle on ... why could Charlie come back from a hanging but Boone couldn't bounce back from his fall?

'One of Us.' Back to the good old days.

Wow. That was awesome.

We finally get an answer to how everyone on the island knows about everyone in the crash. Finally!

So I'm wondering, if the island has some ability to manipulate time, couldn't Ben have orchestrated the Oceanic 815's passenger list to benefit his need for a doctor?

Ben seems to know things (kind of like Desmond) before they happen, such as knowing he has cancer before Juliette tells him, so couldn't he have the ability to influence the future and the past?

Ben seems to gloat about the date on the newspaper in the video of Juiette's sister... insinuating that it probably should be different. Is this a hint of more time-bending weirdness on the island?

I'm torn with Juliette and Ben. Ben's a liar, we know he's a liar. Why would he not lie to Juliette?

Why would Juliette not be lying to everyone else (well, we know she is), including Ben?

Why is Juliette so EVIL!?!? Is she a planted spy? Could her sister's cancer been a ruse to get her to the island and maybe find out what's going on there and maybe find Desmond?

What's up with that 'Downtown' song? I hate it.

Finally, Claire has an implant... it can make her sick. Could the same implant make someone better (like Locke)?

What a great episode.

Next week is the beginning of the "end"? HUH?

Juliet is wicked!

I think the only way to start the blog today is to start with the end of Lost last night. Juliet is pure evil. She is turning out to be scarier than Ben. I love her character - possibly my favorite character now.

Juliet "seems" to have been driven by ambition in her work life, but I think she might be perfect for the Dharma project considering she broke all protocols by impregnanting her sister off the clock. So, while even in her flashbacks she seems innocent and nice, really her ambition just keeps driving her...much like she keeps doing things on the island that are conniving and cruel. Her island activities seem to be driven by her quest to get off the island and back to hr sister, but after watching the Ben/Juliet conspiracy at the end, I wonder if there is some part of her that is being driven by whatever is driving Ben. I am also wondering if Juliet totally created Ben's tumor as a way to escape the island or.....she is evil...what is she up too?!! I did love when Juliet erupted at Ben - she is crazy mean. I love it. Ben looked a little scared of her.

Now, let's talk about pregnant women. We have been led to believe that Juliet has been brought here to solve the problem of all women dying once they are pregnant and never being able to give birth. She is a prize to Ben because she was able to impregnate her sister. This leads me back to my favorite topic: the bible and mysticism!

Remember my references to Jacob in my Fall Finale Blog? (I'm sure you don't) Just a reminder on some of my musings:

"There are so many biblical references...now we have "Jacob" as well and "Benjamin" - both biblical names ..... and Jack "Shephard. In Genesis you can read all about Jacob's sons, one being named Benjamin, son of Rachel. Seems Jacob had no fertility issues at all and wouldn't need a doctor such as Juliet. But, Rachel...yes Rachel wasn't conceiving fast enough so she recruited some handmaidens to do the job? Claire? Sun? Hmmmmmm..

You could go nuts on the Jacob/Benjamin bible connections...read and see what you think. I'm no bible scholar, but you can find connections in Jacob's stories in Genesis."

So, we now know the island has fertility "issues", but the women are getting pregnant, just not living through the pregnancy. It's like the island or whatever is destroying any new life.

Interesting.

So, it also seems as though Ben may have the cure for a cancer? Everyone on the island seems to get cured of cancer (except maybe Ben) and they went to mainland and "cured" Rachel's cancer.

"Jacob said he would take care of it himself" - Jacob cures cancer? I was thinking about who Jacob might be again...Jack's dad? He was fertile...Jack and Claire are here.

I loved the scene where Juliet emerged from the submarine...loved it.

My favorite quote of the night: "Should have let that bug-eyed bastard die" - Sawyer.

I am currently trying to find a meaning for the name "Devina" which is what I think Ben called the girl who died.

Jack's a sucker for women!

Okay...out of thoughts for now!

Left Behind

I enjoyed it.

We podcasted about it... coming soon.

Things I liked or noticed:

• Smokie the Monster was back, Juliette doesn't know what it is but knows it doesn't like the fence. HMMMM.
• Sawyer's girlfriend was pregnant with his baby. This is going to have to come up again in the future.
• Locke doesn't like Kate much. Neither does Kate's mom (we knew that).
• Jack MAY have been brokenhearted to see Kate kissin' Sawyer. Or is Juliette lying... AGAIN!
• There was a code to turn off the fence (I still say it's fake).
• Hurley is manipulative. I was kind of mad to see him stoop to lying to get what he wanted.
• Juliette's shoulder dislocation was awesome... I dislike her.

What I didn't like:
• Iowa looks like Hawaii.
• Still no clue what Smokie is or isn't.
• The "rumble in the jungle" was more like a "spat on the path."

Now that's some Lost

A compelling flashback, intriguing character interaction, new revelations and some forward momentum -- what's not to love about this Locke-centric episode?

What stood out for me:

The sleazebag dad: It's unsurprising that Daddy Dearest was involved with Locke's injury, but wow, I was shocked that it was that sudden and direct. I figured him more for someone who would hire a thug to attack Locke, or slam into him with a car.

So here's yet another handy lesson from sad-sack Locke: If you're dealing with a known sleazebag, especially one you suspect of murder, don't confront him alone. Non-island Locke was such a schmo, it's understandable -- if not necessarily forgivable -- that he wants to leave that life behind.

This theory has been floated, and I'm a believer: Daddy Dearest has just got to be the same con man who destroyed young Sawyer's family. His scumbagginess is far too vast to be confined to just one storyline.

And now Daddy Dearest is imprisoned on the island. Which makes me wonder:

Where is everyone?

Last night's episode, "Par Avion," had some nice revelations... including the most obvious one: Jack has (may have) a sister named Claire.

I thought the rest of Claire's flashback was tedious.

The security fence was cool, but did it really cause Patchy's death? I didn't buy into that at all. It seemed like he could have easily popped a cyanide pill right before and offed himself as per "others" instructions (titled: "What to do when captured").

I would have also used Locke's C4 stash to blow down the fence. But, that's me.

OH, and Jack playing football... does anyone remember the web-hidden script page, from season two, that had Jack coming face to face with his twin in the jungle? The scene never materialized, but could we NOW be seeing Jack's clone that was mentioned in the deleted scene?!

Next week's Canadian promo seems to support my theory:

Enter 77

I really enjoyed "Enter 77." I liked it MUCH better than the last two episodes.

Just when I think flashbacks are going to be a complete beating, they become interesting again.

My questions:

• What's up with the cat and cat references?
• Was Patch-Man trying assume someone else's identity. What was he reading?
• What's up with Ms. Klugh? Why does (did) she seem so evil? What was the point of Patch-Man shooting her?
• What was up with Sayid's change of story when confronted about the torture? Was he lying?
• We're almost certain there are/were two groups... the Dharma group and the Others. Three if you count the survivors.
• What was "the Purge"?
• Wasn't that explosion cool?

Ha! For those who dislike Charlie

Here's what Television Without Pity had to say about Charlie's preordained death:

And get this: Desmond's been trying to save Charlie. Because the universe wants to kill Charlie. Hee! My question: since Desmond knows the future can't be changed, why's he knocking himself out? The universe will have its way. Course-correcting, dude. Sorry, Charlie.

Get the full TWOP breakdown here.

The Desmond episode

Loved it. Great episode, full of intrigue and quirky humor, bringing us back to the Lost I fell in love with.

Some first impressions:

Straight talk: My relief was immense when Locke simply said "The island killed him" when talking to Hurley and Charlie about Eko's death. I have had it with the complications that result when people on this show hide or distort their experiences. What a relief that there is no weak cover story to keep up with in light of Eko's grim demise.

Beautiful back story: Desmond and Penny, what a great love story, even if Desmond is swayed too dramatically by the cold-blooded father instead of fighting for with what is right for both of them.

I love stories where people can be seen as being on a journey to reach for greatness or to realize their true potential. Still, I think Desmond was in fact being swayed onto the wrong path with the message he was receiving that pushing the button was his chance to accomplish something of consequence. Desmond and other Losties often seem to be easily manipulated when it comes to not being "good enough" in some fashion, so I wouldn't necessarily buy what any apparent messenger of fate (that's you, white-haired ring-bearer) is selling.

Freaking me out...

I'm not totally finished with tonight's episode (02/14), but what a complete freak-out.

The show is back to jaw-dropping weirdness and I love it.

Desmond's seeming ability to fortune-tell (time-travel) plays into last week's secret message (see prior post) and the producers hinting that the "hatch event" may have something to do with time-distortion.

Awesome.

More tomorrow.

UPDATE: WOW! Charlie destined to die! Could Desmond be wrong like he was with the Soccer game? This episode ROCKED!

Alex in Not in Portland

Whenever I see Alex charge onto the scene with her slingshot, I flash back to scenes from Return of the Jedi where the Ewoks manage to take down the Empire's heavy-duty weaponry armed with rocks, vines and teddy-bear-like cuteness. If Alex can cause this much trouble with her little slingshot, the Others would do well to keep her away from the actual guns.

Disturbing Ewok memories aside, I really felt bad for Alex, fighting to save her boyfriend and flee only to remain left behind on Other island in the end. I didn't know what to make of the references to Ben as her father -- isn't she supposed to be Rousseau's long-lost, stolen daughter? Do the Others claim the captive children as their own, and she was lucky enough to draw Ben, or is he actually supposed to be her bio-dad?

Here's hoping that Karl will be capable of providing some useful information once the great escape is complete.

Not in Portland

This episode brought up a ton of new theories and mysteries!

• What really happened when "the sky turned purple" as Mr. Friendly (Tom) says? Why is it preventing everyone from getting off the island?

• What's Juliet's and Ben's "history"?

• Is Mittelos an anagram for "lost time"? Is the island some sort of time anomaly?

• Was Jacob's name in the brainwashing film a clue referring to Jacob, the true leader of the island?

• Were the Others recruited to be on the island the way Juliet was?

• What's the deal with Karl... and the brainwashing film... and the weird drum-and-bass/rave music?

Tonight's the last night for the Fall Season of LOST. Then: 13 weeks of misery (or Daybreak if it's good).

Gutsch's find: secret footage?

Will this make it into next week's episode? Some of it looks too good to be TV show material:

(we are now thinking this is a clever edit using footage from "The Librarian: Quest for the Spear" that ran on USA and little miss Sonya Walger (Penny) starred)

A description: Their adventures - laced with deadly headhunters, rushing waterfalls, collapsing bridges, Mayan Death traps, a healthy dose of comic banter and maybe even a touch of romance - eventually lead them into the hands of the Brotherhood, who force them to help track down the missing pieces of the Spear of Destiny. The trail leads them to the other side of the world, to the fabled kingdom of Shangri-La, high in the Himalayas.

R.I.P. Mr. Eko

Wow, the smoke monster is mean!

I don't think Ben's the liar... Juliet is the liar (she has to be). She totally wants to be in charge after killing off Ben. I think Jack knows it too.

Podcastin'!

We had to jump on board and make a Podcast of our own.

So here we go, discussing the 10/25 episode.

Podcast players: Henry (the first voice you hear), Johna and Doug.

I will post to iTunes in the next few days.

Listen HERE (MP3 format).

Brandon says....

... TV Guide's Michael Ausiello reports that someone dies in next week's episode (see post below).

Brandon thinks Charlie.

I was thinking Sun or Jin (in retaliation for Colleen's death).

(note from Johna: Doug...I heard that it was Eko...he apparently moved from Hawaii a few weeks ago and isn't on the cast list anymore - I saw that on another blog)

I'm late.... Further Instructions

Sorry for the late posting, I'm really busy!!

Things we notice about last night's episode (Further Instructions):

• Locke's birthday didn't match on his drivers' license and his gun permit. A mistake or for a reason? FYI: May 1956 vs. November 1946.

• Rumors this season said that someone in the hatch would gain a "superpower"... looks like Desmond can see into the future.

• Who does the Tonka truck in the bear's cave belong to?

• We're introduced to Paulo and Nikki on the beach. They stuck out like a sore thumb.

• Did Locke kill Eddie? Did you notice Eddie's employee number was 84023?

• Is Locke a hunter or a farmer? You tell me.

• Boone re-visits.

I wasn't impressed by much of this episode. Locke's pot farm story was left hanging and there weren't any jaw dropping moments. I already miss last week's episode.

Three more to go.

Ben Linus

Ben's, formerly Henry's, last name is Linus.

Here's a name-definition quote from the LOST boards on oceanicflight815.com:

Linus - Son of Apollo and Psamathe, whose father was the King of Argos. She feared her father and gave the infant Linus to shepherds to raise. He was torn apart by dogs after reaching adulthood and Psamathe was killed by her father, for which Apollo sent a child-killing plague to Argos.
Apollo was the archer-god of medicine and healing and also a bringer of death-dealing plague. He was also a twin. He also had the ability of foresight into the future.

Ellen: Also, there's Linus from Peanuts... has anyone seen Ben with a blankie?

The Glass Ballerina

Wow, awesome episode last night!

Here are key things for me:

• The Ferry landing. It's not just a boat dock, it's for a ferry. To and from where?
• Jae's the father of Sun's baby. Yes? No?
• Did Jae commit suicide or was he pushed?
• Did Sun really kill the Other girl on the boat? What's the retaliation for her doing that?
• What's with all the new characters?
• Why was Sawyer (James) so interested in the Other's father and daughter. Will he use that info to his advantage (you know he will).
• Ben has been on the island his whole life.
• Why are the Others using Kate and Sawyer to dig? It seems more than just rock busting. Is there something in the ground?
• Lies seemed to be the theme of this episode.
• Next week Hurley and Locke are back! Yea!

Doug addition: Chris cleared up my thoughts about "The Glass Ballerina."

I had forgotten about Danny (not Daddy) last year... good job Chris, I stand corrected!

Season 3 opener: I liked it... kinda

I liked it.

I'm a little sad that the reason for everyone being on the island really seems like an accident.

Johna's theory was that everyone was "recruited" to be on LOST island. I loved that theory and it seems like there is tons of evidence to support it.

This episode also makes the mystery of the criss-crossing story lines even more mysterious.

I'm still LOST.

Want a cool LOST souvenir? How about a boat!

In honor of the wrap-up of the TLE-ARG and the October 4th premiere of LOST. I have something cool to give away:

A LOST branded inflatable boat! Not a tiny toy, but a boat you can actually use!

See:

I also have a LOST branded inflatable airline pillow that's part of an ABC promo pack that also includes:
• A Desperate Housewives cell phone holder
• A Grey's Anatomy syringe
• A Men in Trees camo hat
• A Ugly Betty makeup case
• A 6 Degrees t-shirt
• A Let's Rob t-shirt
• A Dancing with the Stars keychain
• A Sons and Daughters picture frame.

So here's how you can get the boat or the promo pack:

At least 50 people have to comment to this post, explaing why you DESERVE the LOST boat or promo kit, by October 4th. No duplicates (you can ask friends and family to post too).

Include your name and e-mail address in your comment (I won't post those). If I get 50 comments, I will choose the two best comments... one (1) for the boat, one (1) for the promo kit. If I don't get 50 comments then I'm keeping the boat :)

Tell every LOST fan you know!

Season Finale!!!

Wednesday, May 24th, is the last show of the season. I have been reading a lot of rumors about what happens.

ARGH! The anticipation is killing me!

Your thoughts?

PS: I'm not posting any major spoilers until the show is over. Well, any that I think are real.
