The season 4 finale ("There's No Place Like Home" - parts 2 & 3) was AWESOME!!! We got answers to some of the questions that were bothering us:

1) Will Desmond and Penny ever see each other again?
2) Who's in that coffin (from the season 3 finale)?
3) How'd Ben teleport to the desert?
4) How'd the Oceanic 6 come to be?
5) Will Michael ever die?

Did I miss any?

A happy ending for some...Yay! Penny finds Desmond, and what convenient timing. I hope they live happily ever after...but unlikely since Ben is looking for revenge. "You kill my daughter, now I kill yours!"

All year long, I've been guessing that Ben was in the coffin. Boy was I wrong! Didn't you think Locke was a bit out of character with his, "Watch me perform miracles..." attitude towards Jack? I was laughing along with my roommate during the scene in the greenhouse with Ben, Locke, and Jack because they made Jack look like a fool.

I thought that a significant part of this episode was seeing how Ben was able to teleport to the Sahara Desert. This act bridged a gap between the current and flash-forward scenes, something I don't recall ever seeing yet on this show. It'll be interesting to see how the writers will handle the shrinking margin of time they're left with to keep the show interesting (the flash-forward scenes this season were a breath of fresh air for the series, IMHO). Perhaps they'll start jumping even further into the future?

I'm assuming that Michael dies in the freighter explosion. The island sends a final message to Michael in the form of Christian, and allows Michael to finally die. Though I'm not buying into the idea that Jin is dead...I think he's still alive somehow, and will eventually be able to see his child.

I didn't think we'd see this until the final season (6), but it looks like the Oceanic 6 will be focusing on returning to the island next season. Jack has to find his half-sister and comply with Lockes wishes. Kate has the guilt of raising Claire's baby. Hurley is haunted by dead people (Charlie) that asks him to help those on the island. Sun probably believes Jin is still alive. Sayid? Ben says they'll all have to return together...what about Frank the pilot, Desmond, and Ben (the one who moves the island cannot return to the island)? What happened to the last bit of survivors on the little zodiac with Faraday? A ton of new questions and such a long time until next season starts up...

I was watching the season finale of Desperate Housewives (DH) last night when I realized that I've failed to blog after episode 4.11, and almost failed to do so after this past week's episode 4.12, "There's No Place Like Home". BTW, if you didn't see the DH finale last night, it totally ripped off the "flash-forward" thing that LOST has going...

In 4.12 we get a lot of answers. One of which has been a splinter in my brain, "Is Jack's father alive in the future?" It was a sigh of relief to see the eulogy that Jack gave to put that question to rest...for now. The Oceanic 6 are solidly defined, and we find out what their lies are about.

I was glad to see the writers attempt to address one of the issues I had with Kate and her "son" Aaron. A reporter questioned of how they should have noticed she was pregnant while being transported in custody. I thought it was lame how they dissolved the situation by not allowing Kate to answer the question.

The scene where Jack finds out that Claire is/was his sister was awesome. The look on his face was so authentic...acting without words.

Did anyone else think that the slow montage (where they were coming out of the plane) appeared to be a metaphor for the death process? That whole deal where you see a big bright light (when the cargo door opened), and you go into the light and meet all your lost loved ones? I thought it was a metaphor for death... or maybe birth?

I'm convinced that Ben has seen the future. It's the only explanation for his confidence. He goes off to take care of the helicopter crew...unarmed and unafraid of death. "Change the rules" = change fate/destiny? Maybe that's why he was so upset when Alex was executed...she was not supposed to die.

Remember how the island controls fate. We saw how Michael, on numerous occasions, escape death with no legitimate explanation. Will Michael, Desmond, and Jin perish while trying to diffuse the unmistakable pile of clearly labeled C4? We'll have to wait a whole 'nother week I guess.
