This place is DEATH!!! Ep 5.5

We got more answers in this episode...some were a bit ambiguous and not direct, and some were pretty solid.

Jin = alive

Ellie = Eloise = Faraday's mom.

Christian = Jacob? Maybe he calls himself "Jacob" while on the island to protect his real-world identity so he cannot be found by people like Richard, Ben, or Widmore.

Smoke monster = guard dog ...we've probably reached the extent of its explanation? I hope not. We still need to know how Ben is able to summon it, and how he has immunity to its devastating powers. Can I get one of these for my house?

Looks like I predicted it right, about Charlotte being the reason why Faraday was upset when we first met him. I'm wondering if she was the girl that little Ben was friends with...

I thought Kate was hilarious...she gave that "You idiot!" look to Sun when she found out Aaron was in the car. Am I the only one who laughed?

The time jumps seem to be occurring more frequently, and are starting to annoy. I'm wondering if the frequency and differences in the years being jumped have anything to do with the special LOST numbers (most likely).

Loved the gore-factor. Separation of limbs, and protruding shin bones were AWESOME!

Was/is the well the fountain of youth? We still need to know why Richard doesn't age. Widmore and Ellie got old, so why not Richie? You DO age on island...Aaron didn't look a newborn after a while.

Does Ji Yeon have to return to the island as well? She was in Sun's belly when they left.

I have a feeling the story line seems to be carving in a "destiny" concept. We can assume that Faraday tries to alter history by going back in time to warn Charlotte about the island...but that doesn't work. Remember how Michael could not take his own life...because the "island" wouldn't let him. I'm thinking the "island" = pivot point for destiny. The Oceanic 6 must return to the island because they altered destiny somehow and returning to the island will give them a chance to jump back on the proper destiny track. Fixing their altered destiny paths might eventually allow them to leave the island properly.
