I just got punched in the face by EP4.2

I loved the first two episodes of Lost this season! They were both well-paced and had me begging for the next bit of mysterious information to chew on. Right when the series made you think there was a logical explanation for everything (getting rid of the sci-fi/supernatural factor), it punches you in the face with a whole new slew of questions.

Last night's episode introduced a few new characters. We learn that Naomi was responsible for getting a team on and off the island in a mission to find Ben (for what?):

1. Miles - Ghostbuster - He has powers to communicate with the dead. I'm assuming he is part of the team because he might be able to get information from the spirits of the island that would lead them to Ben.

2. Charlotte - Anthropologist - We can assume she is an expert on the Dharma initiative because we see her smile at a relic she finds (Dharma symbol/medallion of some sort) with a polar bear fossil...in a Tunisian desert.

3. Daniel - Physicist - He is very upset when viewing a news broadcast reporting about the undersea wreckage of the "supposed" Oceanic flight 815. Why is he upset? I'm not sure, because it is NOT the real flight 815 plane they're showing on the news**more on this below**. At one point in the episode, he is analyzing the way the light refracts in the jungle...he explains that something is a bit different/off. I am assuming he's on the mission because he is super smart...and knows a few things about time travel and multi-dimensions...

4. Frank - Pilot - He was supposed to fly Oceanic 815, but was replaced with a pilot that he knew. He notices that the body presumed to be the pilot that was shown on the news was indeed NOT the pilot (missing a wedding ring). I'm assuming he was allowed/pulled onto the mission because he had this "top secret" knowledge.

We now know why Ben did not want the freight-people on the island; because he knew he had a high price on his head and that they were coming for him. What does Ben have that makes him so important? I suspect they want him for the very same reason Locke has kept Ben alive. Ben has a wealth of knowledge about the island and its powers (some powers of which are time travel and healing). I'm assuming that Ben put the fake wreckage under the sea to keep people from searching for survivors, and ultimately to keep people from finding the island.

I'm anxiously awaiting episode 3, as they are revealing another Lostie who gets off the island. I'd like to add: I would suggest the hard-core Lost fans to read up on some time travel theories so they can get a grip on what is about to come. The subject matter has been hinted well in the Orchid video. The whole "time travel/parallel universe" theory might give an explination to Charlie's appearance in episode 4.1. *grin*
