D.O.C.

Good stuff! I feel like we are really on a roll (leading up to, of course, the sad moment when Lost abandons us for the summer).

Patchy lives! Loved Jin kicking his butt, and retrieving the purloined phone. Also loved the bit where Hurley is just la-la-la telling all to Patchy before taking in the shut-up-already eyerolls from Charlie.

Seems like we are getting a big nod toward the island having some sort of healing power, (not just for chronic conditions, as has been emphasized quite a bit already) but a force that allows people to recover from even sudden, catastrophic injury. Of course, it is applied so inconsistently that it is hard to get a handle on ... why could Charlie come back from a hanging but Boone couldn't bounce back from his fall?

Liked the backstory quite a bit as well. Loved seeing Sun show so much spine, to both her father and the blackmailer (a bad mom to rival Lost's many bad dads). I'm rooting for Sun and Jin as a couple, and it was a sweet moment that Sun was glad it was Jin's child, despite the supposed death sentence.

Seeing Juliet do her dirty work for Ben, even after showing so much warmth to Sun -- ouch. Her "I hate you" goes with my theory that no one should trust her. She is not really "with" the Others and their agenda and more than she is with the castaways. It seems like perhaps she wants to return to her pre-Island self (shown as nurturing and idealistic in many ways), but is in too deep with the Others to get out now.

And finally, the big pow-wow moment of Flight 815 having been recovered with everyone found dead. I don't buy for a minute that our guys are dead. The most straightforward explanation is that someone way up the food chain in relation to the Island and its mysteries (Daddy Widmore?) has engineered a cover-up. Yes, that would be one heck of a big cover-up, but given the weirdness we've been trying to sort out on this show, let's not quibble over how you would fake plane wreckage and dead bodies.

More science-fiction bents could get us into time-travel or parallel universe territory, which is fine with me. Just about anything would be beat everyone being dead. Don't go there, Lost!

I agree. I liked this episode VERY much.

And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I had to agree with Charilie in that WHY DID YOU LET PATCH GO!!!!

We've see before that if you let an Other slip through your hands, they will come back to haunt you.

Letting him go was NOT a smart move. And Desmond, since when does someone's "word" mean a whole hill of beans on this island?

I definitely did not expect the words from parachute girl regarding flight 815. It certainly asks another BIG question (as Lost likes to do) that likely won't get answered until next season.

ok do we Remember Rachel Blake here is a
Interview With Jamie Silberhartz - The Lost Experience's Rachel Blake!

April 24, 2007

Last summer, Rachel Blake became the object of obsession (and affection) for practically any LOST fan with an internet connection. LOST fans spent hours chasing the clues, cracking the codes, and collecting the glyphs that Blake scattered over The Lost Experiences various websites.

TheTailsection.com tracked down the actress behind Rachel Blake, Jamie Silberhartz, and got the lowdown on what it was like to be involved in The LOST Experience.

DocArzt: How did you wind up getting the role of Rachel?

Jamie Silberhartz: This was a three-week audition process for the role of Rachel. The third callback was actually for the comic-con confrontation. Of course, I didn’t know that when I auditioned. They asked me if I would be comfortable speaking in front of 2,000 people…I thought they meant set extras!

Did you know once the project started how your character was going to evolve? From Persephone, to Rachel, to Alvar's daughter?

I knew from the beginning how the character was going to evolve. The writers are brilliant, they had everything planned out from the get go.

Did you have friends or family that were into the game? Was it tough keeping them in the dark.

It was very hard not telling people about the game. My friends and family are all LOST fans. They would talk about the show and I could not say a word.

The 'street theater' portion of the game, at comic-con, was definitely a high point for you performance wise. Were you nervous?

I had always wanted to go to Comic-con. So it was really a dream for me to go in such a capacity. I was nervous leading up to it. Yet, the second I got up there I had a great time! That was the highlight of the project for me.

Were you/are you a LOST fan?

I was and am a HUGE Lost fan. I am pretty much a Lost geek, so getting the inside scoop was such a blast.

How did the game impact your public life? Did people approach you a lot during the game?

I never got approached during the duration of the game, which is good because I wasn't able to say anything. Rachel was supposed to be in hiding, so I have no idea how I would have explained my being in Los Angeles.

Do have the sense that we will be seeing Rachel Blake again?

That is really a question for the producers, but I would play Rachel again in a heartbeat. She is a fantastic woman who, I was proud to play. I'd love to follow her story line

What kind of impact did your role in the game have on your career?

The show has such a great fan base. It’s always a topic of conversation in any meeting I've had. I feel lucky to have been part of Lost!

Where will we being seeing you next?

I am recurring on “Without a Trace” as Bonnie the FBI receptionist. I just shot an episode of “Derek and Simon,” directed by Bob Odenkirk that will be premiering on SuperDeluxe.com in May, and perhaps with enough fan support Rachel will again re-appear.

GUTSCH!

When The Others saw the plane fall out of the sky, Ben said, "There may be survivors. You're one of them." So at least as far as he's concerned, our people are survivors, not dead people.

"And finally, the big pow-wow moment of Flight 815 having been recovered with everyone found dead."

Technically, that's not what she said. She said that "there were no survivors." It could mean they found wreckage and no bodies.

If you think about it, the Others (or their compatriots off the island) could have placed plane wreckage somewhere in the ocean where the plane was supposed to be. Rescuers would presume the bodies were at the bottom of the ocean.

First - told ya Patchy wasn't dead...

I read on E!'s Watch with Kristin that the parachute girl said "Eu nao estou sozinho." Which means, "I am not alone." In Portuguese. Patchy told them it meant "thank you". Interesting... And the guys we saw in last season's finale (I think it was last season?) were speaking Portuguese.

Good post. I think the deaths of Eko, Boone, and Shannon - plus the couple from a few weeks ago - show that there's more to the island's healing power than meets the eye. For some reason, it only works on some people. Or maybe the people have to be treated (by the Others?)...

Anyway, I think that Mikhail's survival is a crucial piece of the puzzle. Words from the Woman Who Fell
