Flashes Before Your Eyes

WARNING: THIS IS A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS ENTRY BECAUSE I AM SWAMPED.....BUT READ IT... DUDE.

I'll see you in another life brother...

I'm a little thrown now - this goes with one of my theories that the flashbacks were parallel time, but I am still not sure that is what is going on. So, now the question is -- are they really flashbacks or are they really parallel times? Only Desmond is aware that he is back in time however. Everyone else's flashbacks were simply, well, flashbacks!

The numbers were back. Delivery for 815! Of course Desmond has great familiarity with the numbers.

The freaky women in the shop was awesome. Who is she and how does she know? I like this actress, she always plays interesting roles - mom in Transamerica..also a bit wicked in that movie. Her name is Fionnula Flannagan...she's also been in Nip/Tuck, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood and many, many more.

So, Desmond sees Charlie on the street and he knows him....I loved it! Desmond seems to have broken through--he doesn't instantly know Charlie, but it starts coming back to him.

Who is Desmond's friend he discusses time travel with? Haven't we seen him before? Donovan?

Penny really, really loves Desmond despite the fact he is poor - he is a good man. Haven't we heard something like that before - We're the good ones, the good guys. But she calls him a coward too....
....How did Desmond change his mind so quickly on the the "fate" aspect -- we are not supposed to be together....

"Never done this before have you" "I can always tell the first-timers"
-- I think she meant more than just the first time he has bought a ring. Playing a role? Someone who has been through this before. The FATE MASTER? She seems to refer to everything that happens as the future though, so kind of messes with my parallel time theory. Ugh, confusing, but GREAT! Is he dreaming?
"You don't do it because you choose to, you do it because you're supposed to"
....predestination? "You may not like your part Desmond, but pushing that button Desmond is the only truly great thing you will ever do."

SUCKER!

I like Desmond finding out he was really correct about the soccer game and the guy showing up in the bar....but as he was warned, he can't change it and he ends up back on the island, but with a head wound right after the hatch blew -- so, do we believe that he was injured and had a dream sequence or do we believe he really went back in time or to another parallel time? I guess we will find out.

And finally, the greatest revelation of the whole show.....it's Charlie he has been trying to save. Charlie - don't call Desmond a coward...he isn't fond of that word.

You are a "good" man Charlie. Again, a "good" man.

"I wasn't saving Claire Charlie, I was saving you."
Charlie is gonna die. I love this..this is really a high-brow Final Destination! Love it!

Wankered....good old English word we all need to start using here in the states.

PREDESTINATION: the doctrine that God in consequence of his foreknowledge of all events infallibly guides

those who are destined for salvation -- ISN'T THIS PART OF EKO'S DEMISE? HE WASN'T DESTINED FOR SALVATION?

Read more here: http://www.allaboutgod.com/predestination.htm

Here is some of what it says (whether you believe it or not, this is what it says)
Predestination – A Decree
Predestination is the decree of God by which certain souls are foreordained to salvation -- called the elect.

Again, this is a concept that many see as somehow unfair. However, all of the attributes of God allow Him to know history in advance. Therefore, it can be said that we are "preordained" or elected by pre-knowledge because time has no rule over God. But, didn't God give man volition (exercising one’s own will)? The answer to that is yes, however, since God is all knowing He already knows the outcome of the choices men will make and He uses those choices to bring about His purpose.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn, with many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And he gave them right standing with himself, and he promised them his glory” (Romans 8:28-30).

God has made salvation possible for anyone who wants it. He already knows who will accept His plan of salvation. This does not negate man's choice; rather it is confirmation of God's grace that some do choose salvation. Predestination means to mark out or determine before hand. Predestination may raise some intellectual problems, but that is because man tries to wrap his finite mind around an infinite God. However, those who accept the gift of salvation become the “elect” of God.
”Furthermore, because of Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as he decided long ago” (Ephesians 1:11).

“But people who aren't Christians can't understand these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means” (1 Corinthians 2:14).
