Podcastin'!

We had to jump on board and make a Podcast of our own.

So here we go, discussing the 10/25 episode.

Podcast players: Henry (the first voice you hear), Johna and Doug.

I will post to iTunes in the next few days.

Listen HERE (MP3 format).

... TV Guide's Michael Ausiello reports that someone dies in next week's episode (see post below).

Brandon thinks Charlie.

I was thinking Sun or Jin (in retaliation for Colleen's death).

(note from Johna: Doug...I heard that it was Eko...he apparently moved from Hawaii a few weeks ago and isn't on the cast list anymore - I saw that on another blog)

1) We know there are two islands. There is nowhere to run.

2) We may have learned that Ben isn’t really in charge? Juliet says she doesn’t answer to him,but then she listens to him anyway when he comes to get her to help Colleen. I think it might just be a setup. However, we know that Colleen was shot…Sun shot her…that wasn’t fake. Jack says she was dead before they started working on her. Maybe she really was dead already and once she died, they enacted their scheme – unplanned certainly because they didn’t know she would be shot, but they certainly had plenty of time to stage the spinal x-rays and Jack might have figured it out. He certainly would have known if she was already dead – her blood wouldn’t have been pumping. Then again, he might have just been using that as a figure of speech.

3) Desmond appears to be psychic. Desmond certainly knew it was going to rain. he constructed his lightning rod in the area of Claire’s hut because he knew lightning was going to strike her hut. Psychics keep connecting with Claire…a psychic led her to get on the plane in the first place.

4) Juliet is a fertility doctor. Oh, this is good…this is really good. I was wondering if she is a fertility doctor for humans or if she is an animal fertility doctor? After all, they are basically holding the Losties hostage in a zoo. This lends itself to some of those Island of Dr. Moreau theories that are floating around out there. But, I don’t think that is what is going on…just something the writers threw in there for fun.

5) Sawyer has a daughter. I am guessing that he doesn’t have a daughter named Clementine. I have a feeling he has been conned. I am certain that as we go along in the flashbacks we will find him discovering that there is no daughter and that is probably why he is having a hard time letting Kate love him. “You work so hard to make her think you don’t care”

6) The only thing we put in you was doubt… “the only way to gain a con mans respect is to con him”. Why would they want his respect? Interesting.

7) Of Mice and Men. I hate to reveal this, but I don't think I have ever read this book and if I did, I don't remember it. So, consulting a few cliff notes on the net I have this for you: "George, who points Curley and the other men in the wrong direction, finds Lennie in the brush where he told him to go at the beginning of the novel. Lennie has been having hallucinations of a giant rabbit and his Aunt Clara; they warn Lennie that George will be angry at him for killing Curley's Wife ...." and of course there is a lot more....but there's the rabbit connection!

8) Something weird about Hurley and Desmond. We know Desmond is real and isn’t just in Hurley’s imagination…other characters have interacted with him. But there seems to be some connection here…like twins or something. I haven’t got a handle on it yet, but it is stewing in my brain. Any thoughts on that one?

9) Ben is the creepiest guy ever. Really to me, Ben just seems afraid. I don’t think he is calling all the shots….someone else is telling him what to do. Ben always says, we aren’t the bad guys and this seems like it might be true. I keep waiting for something to reveal that they really aren’t the bad guys.

10) Frustrating Plot points. Are they ever going to bring us back to last season’s finale with Penny and the revelation that they had found “him”? We had one glimpse of the outside world and now nothing? Ugh. Are we ever going to see a monster again and be told what that monster might be? Ugh.

11) Next week. What the heck was that in the monitor? It is a man, not an alien, with an eye patch. Probably the owner of that eye back in one of the old hatches. Also, who is that new girl in the promo? I looked on IMDB for the cast, but didn’t find her. Anyone know?

Sorry for the late posting, I'm really busy!!

Things we notice about last night's episode (Further Instructions):

• Locke's birthday didn't match on his drivers' license and his gun permit. A mistake or for a reason? FYI: May 1956 vs. November 1946.

• Rumors this season said that someone in the hatch would gain a "superpower"... looks like Desmond can see into the future.

• Who does the Tonka truck in the bear's cave belong to?

• We're introduced to Paulo and Nikki on the beach. They stuck out like a sore thumb.

• Did Locke kill Eddie? Did you notice Eddie's employee number was 84023?

• Is Locke a hunter or a farmer? You tell me.

• Boone re-visits.

I wasn't impressed by much of this episode. Locke's pot farm story was left hanging and there weren't any jaw dropping moments. I already miss last week's episode.

Three more to go.

Ben Linus

Ben's, formerly Henry's, last name is Linus.

Here's a name-definition quote from the LOST boards on oceanicflight815.com:

Linus - Son of Apollo and Psamathe, whose father was the King of Argos. She feared her father and gave the infant Linus to shepherds to raise. He was torn apart by dogs after reaching adulthood and Psamathe was killed by her father, for which Apollo sent a child-killing plague to Argos.
Apollo was the archer-god of medicine and healing and also a bringer of death-dealing plague. He was also a twin. He also had the ability of foresight into the future.

Ellen: Also, there's Linus from Peanuts... has anyone seen Ben with a blankie?

Wow, awesome episode last night!

Here are key things for me:

• The Ferry landing. It's not just a boat dock, it's for a ferry. To and from where?
• Jae's the father of Sun's baby. Yes? No?
• Did Jae commit suicide or was he pushed?
• Did Sun really kill the Other girl on the boat? What's the retaliation for her doing that?
• What's with all the new characters?
• Why was Sawyer (James) so interested in the Other's father and daughter. Will he use that info to his advantage (you know he will).
• Ben has been on the island his whole life.
• Why are the Others using Kate and Sawyer to dig? It seems more than just rock busting. Is there something in the ground?
• Lies seemed to be the theme of this episode.
• Next week Hurley and Locke are back! Yea!

Doug addition: Chris cleared up my thoughts about "The Glass Ballerina."

I had forgotten about Danny (not Daddy) last year... good job Chris, I stand corrected!

I was absolutely glued to the television last night. I had low expectations for the second show of the season based on where we left off in the premiere, but I was so wrong. I was riveted.

We found out a lot of interesting things last night: 1) Benjamin's last name which Doug tells me he is hearing is significant 2) he has lived on the island his entire life!!! 2) They have contacts with the outside world and kind of proved it by showing Jack the telecast of the Boston Red Sox.

Walt back?

IMDB.com is showing that Walt is back for episode #3?

Weirdness. They've been wrong in the past.

BTW, prize winners, I won't be able to ship prizes until the end of the month, so be patient!!

We almost had enough boat comments. 34 to be exact.

Thats 16 less than needed.

So, let's see, the 16th person to post was Todd Sanders.

Todd said "give it to Alison" (S).

Todd's unselfish behavior is very "LOST-like" dramatic and impressive.

• So Alison S gets the boat and Todd Sanders gets... a boat too (yeah, I had two of 'em).

• Mandy gets the Promo Pack. I was touched by her sad story, but mostly because she's local and can pick her prize up at the station. :)

• Gutsch gets a LOST travel pillow and a "The Nine" vault bank. Gutsch tried to drive traffic by posting to other sites. We love free publicity. Great effort!

• Britt gets a Grey's Anatomy syringe. Britt really wanted a syringe. Should we be worried?

• Joshzele also gets a LOST travel pillow. Thanks for the nice note.

• Luke wanted a Six Degrees shirt and he gets it, because no one else wants it.

If your name is listed above, send your mailing addresses to the comments field. Use the SAME email address you used when you posted. ADD: "DO NOT POST" to the top of your comment.

I will round up some more freebees to give away. Were those more boats that I saw in the promotions closet??? HMMMM.

I liked it.

I'm a little sad that the reason for everyone being on the island really seems like an accident.

Johna's theory was that everyone was "recruited" to be on LOST island. I loved that theory and it seems like there is tons of evidence to support it.

This episode also makes the mystery of the criss-crossing story lines even more mysterious.

I'm still LOST.

I just found out that "Juliet" - actress Elizabeth Mitchell is from Dallas. A coworker here is friends with her younger sister who still lives here in Dallas. The sister and my friend watched Lost together last night and then they talked to her after the show, but she wouldn't even tell her sister what's going on!

From IMDB: was born in Los Angeles in 1970. Shortly after her birth her parents moved to Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts located in the Arts District of downtown Dallas. Later she earned a BFA degree in Acting from Stephens College and also studied at the British American Drama Academy. Additionally, she spent six years at the respected Dallas Theatre Center and one year with that theater's Encore Company. Before her big screen debut she started her acting carrier from theaters. Her theatrical stage credits include productions of "As You Like It," "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "Measure for Measure," "Baby" and "Chicago," among many others.

And by the way, she was Angelina Jolie's lover in "Gia". If you remember that movie.

Okay, so ABC was right - the first 5-minutes were incredible...I loved, loved, loved it. But then....BORING! I can see now that the next few "mini-series" episodes will all be within the confines of well, the confines of the "others" realm. And despite what the writers keep saying about this not being purgatory...I gotta say they are sure making it look a little that way. Wouldn't you say that new character and Jack's inquisitor seem a bit like an angel? She knows..they know...everything about him and his family. But, to be my own devil's advocate, this also goes to the theory of experiments gone awry....and Ben (Fenry) is the leader of these crazy experiments. So either they are in some sort of purgatory, or they have some sort of connection to the real world still since they have all kinds of records about everyone. I just hope we don't have to sit through a lot of "this is your life" questioning by the others.....I want to see some monsters!

Boat winner, this Friday

I will announce the boat winner this Friday. So there is still a chance to impress me :)

OK, I said in order for me to give away the ultra-cool LOST boat I need 50 reasons from users why they deserve to have the boat. I have 28 responses and less than 24 hours to go.

Call you mom, call your friends, bring just 22 more posts!

(Sorry for all the begging)

Now, for the good news: Season 3 starts tomorrow! I have already read a ton of reviews from the people that were lucky enough to be at the Hawaii screening. I can't wait. We're having a LOST party at a co-workers house.

So is everyone up for this blog converting to a LOST show blog?? It's going to be rough going after the first 6 episodes.

So, what do you think?
