New press release
Several folks have written in comments to point out that there's a new press release linked from the Hanso Foundation site. (Thanks, several folks!) This is about Gary Troup and Bad Twin; it's the same content that was run as an ad in some newspapers.
So, anybody found any new Gary Troup video clips (besides the three we already know about?) (Note: We have clips 1 of 9, 2 of 9 and 3 of 9.)

When you get to the image of the newspaper ad, remove the image name (newspaper.gif) in the URL of your web browser so that it looks like this:

Actually, this is incomplete. The link takes you to a gif of the ad. But in the same directory as that gif is a pdf of a letter sent to Hyperion Books by Hanso demanding that they cease publication of Bad Twin or face legal action.
Does anyone find it the least bit odd (or the least bit creepy) that the word "Founder," describing Alvar Hanso, is capitalized in that PDF? Sort of odd to see that level fo reverence for a company founder...
What was it not-Henry said? "He's a great man, John, a brilliant man."
It almost seems like they're hinting too heavily to the effect that Alvar Hanso is on the island and is leading the Others. Hinting heavily enough to indicate that the man on the island is not Alvar Hanso at all.
So what do you think. Are we being fed Red Herring, or am I just reading too much into this.

If you look at the source or When you put your curser over the name, last modified, size and Description links you get:

In the excerpt section of the Bad twin boook offers an audio excerpt from Bad Twin, however the first 5 minutes are of information of gary troup. I don't know if it has any significance but it is pretty cool.

Hmm... yeah, I'd be very wary of that info. Looks like a fan faking it. The e-mail domain isn't thehansofoundation.org, so I doubt it's a real in-game thing.
That audio sample is pretty damn impressive. They let us know that the normal world definitely know about the crash...and therefore looking for them?

Why is the link on the Hanso website to this letter et al is dated 12/5/2006 rather than the actual date?
Kinda strange if you ask me!

C=S is Column Size
C=M is Column Last Modified
C=D is Column Description
O=A is Order Ascending
O=D is Order Descending
I don't think there is any hidden meaning.

In foreign countries dates are written as day/month/year. So 12/5/2006 is May 12, 2006.
Re: ryan's post about the "codes" on the directory headings on THF.org.
This just tells the server to serve up the directory listings sorted by a particular column.
Like on the "Name" link you get ?C=N;O=A, which tells the server Column=Name, Order=Ascending. If you click on it, it will change to ?C=N;O=D for Column=Name, Order=Descending.
This is common for Apache servers, and occurs in any directory listing (i.e. paris, london, and extras).
Lost Madified is funny, tho. :)
