Mouse hole

Kinda looks like Marvin Candle to me. Anyone else?

I would imagein it was found by taking "the mouse has more than one hole" that was on persephone's page then the #2 that was also on persephones page.

The cynic in me says that they messed up the code again and since a fair amount believed the mouse thing they threw this up to "corroborate". Doesn't make sense and the way it was supposedly found is suspicious to say the least.

Not to keep harping on this (I've been doing so in several locations over the course of the day), but one other reason I think the clue is actually the filename: Speaker's remark (over on Inside the Experience) isn't that we were looking at the image incorrectly. His remark in full was:

"People have finally found this. But they're not looking at it correctly."

Not looking at it correctly simply refers to "this" which is a link to the location. So Speaker isn't even suggesting we're not looking at the IMAGE incorrectly, just that we're looking at the CLUE incorrectly.

So I stand by my theory that the answer is in anagramming the spelled-out filename.

It was found from Persephone's site and someone much smarter than me put it together. :)

Hi Doug. I managed to find it out by accident, to be honest. After doing my daily check of Persephone's page and finding the code had changed to '2', i then just had a think about her other clues. As they have all 'followed' each other, i thought that because the previous one was about a mouse using more than one hole, i first tried hole, got nothing, then hole2... the rest is history. Sorry for not posting the logic behind it earlier

I think what's spelled out in his hair is MUTANT. See my note below ( in peter thompspns letter section) about taking the gif file name q9als2002 and translating it a couple of times. There's an anagram MUTANT ID DECODED IN MUTANT DNA.

i am getting the hanso loading flash timer but nothing has loaded yet. i dont have a DSL connection here. can someone else check it out?

Joop's picture has changed on the page you send him a message on. You no longer get the black scribbled lines on the flash picture of him and some of the background images have been cleaned up as well. Also, the dark image you see over Joop occurs more often and you can make out transparent images of some of the Lostaways that appear in, around and on Joop.

Weird...

I think the next big clue will be on Wednesday night. Jimmy Kimmel said he is going to be interviewing Hugh McIntyre of the Hanso Foundation on his show Wednesday night.

Someone on Inside posting that Hugh McIntyre will be on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday.

I've tried hole3 too and have been through all the same clues as on the normal hanso site, but the mouth piece password doesn't work and I can't figure out why. Any ideas?

Also, I think the figure in the coat in the shadows may actually be a woman - looked like a bit of curly hair on her neck in one of the images, and looks slimmer than Candle.

And finally, there is a sort of stain in the letters about the viral outbreak on Joop's page, looks like words but I can't make them out. Any help?

I tried going on with the numbers to see what would happen. Hole4, 5, 6, 8, and 15 all did the same thing as hole3.

So Hugh's going to be on TV? I guess that's why his headshot disappeared from the site. If it was a stock photo, and they don't have access to the original model, Hugh might look nothing like his picture.

Neil, I don't think that Hugh in the pics was a stock image like the others, because he was also in the video of him with his sunglasses-wearing girlfriend. (I think it was the same guy.) So it's probably one of the few actors they've hired (along with Gary Troup).

Two things: ANYTHING put before the . results in loading the regular Hanso page, except for persephone and hole2.

And go back and watch that segment about Hugh's affair again. You never actually see Hugh (maybe an arm or something equally unspecific). You only see the woman.

Erm. That bit from the emri (out-of-game) site? Ultimately, it converts into the same string from an earlier Persephone clue, which became the clue about not relying on one hole.

Has anybody thought about the "missing organs" clue possibly being a reference to the missing eyes in the image?

The filename of the image on hole2.thehansofoundation.org in base 64 translates to AAnS... I don't know if that's an anagram, or if I just used the wrong translation.

If you look at the white space in the image rather than the black space it looks like the head of a horse or a knight piece on a chess board. Perhaps that is what was meant by the statement "People have finally found this. But they're not looking at it correctly."

Someone says we aren't looking at the clue correctly. Well wasn't one of the other clues something like "missing organs" ? well the face is missing eyes, nose and mouth... don't know where that might fit in.. but it stuck me as strange.

You know, it kind of looks like the Army insignia for its' Calvery Corps, except it's inverted to being all white instead of all black now that you mention it. Maybe it's Kelvin or Kate's dad?

Nah... not Kate's dad- the hair is wrong, but possibly Kelvin- if you look at some shots of Clancy Brown, this looks almost exactly like them except for the fact that his features are missing.

Interesting result is "Enemy Soothe Us" - wonder if it really means anything!

I think what his forehead says is "I'm Evil". The Evil part gets a little muddled. but the I'm is clear as a bell to me. Let me know your thoughts

If you invert the colors, it looks to me like the black horse that kate saw that one day on the island.

I looked at the image and in the upper part in the "hair" area above the forehead it looks like there might be a word so I inverted in photoshop (swapped the negative space) and this is what I got:
