Has anyone received an email from (Game-)Hugh McIntyre?
I'm hoping this is really happening and it's not Fake-Hugh hacking the game again.

OK this is Creepy,
I just recieved this e-mail:

Hello,
I'm interested in doing a story about your site. Could we set up a
time to talk via the phone.
I look forward to working with you.

I just got back:
Dear Mr. Balloch,
Please send me links to stories you have had published.
Namaste,
Hugh McIntyre
Yikes Josh!
How long did it take to get a reply?
The running theory, now that we have a decent sample of replies (which we didn't have even late last night) is that the responses are keyword triggered.
For example, if you ask to be put on the press list, Hugh asks for links to your published work and he will consider it. If you ask for an interview, Hugh says they may be open to brief interviews. If you ask about Joop, Hush says to visit their website for more information. If you mentioned Gary Troup or Bad Twin, Hugh says the book is full of lies.
Etc.
can you post the message headers?
if you are in a webmail program look for "show full headers"
or if you are in outlook right click on it and select "options' and go to internet headers.
Just a couple of days
Also: It's pretty certain it's not fake. I and others have looked at the full email headers of the mail coming from Hugh and taking all of their information with a little digging and verifying... well, I haven't yet seen anyone who thinks the totality of the information in the headers would have been spoofed.
This is in-game and legit.
Most people aren't having to wait a couple of days. Only a matter of minutes.
So I got this from "Hugh" this morning....
I had asked to be on the Press Distribution list...
Curious...
What is the web address of your station?

There is a new press release on hanso, about Bad Twin. I think it's just what was in the newspaper clipping though, and as far as I can see there are no secret links. It's probably just another way of trying to sell us the book.
I sent the following about an hour ago and, as yet, have not received a response:
"Mr. McIntyre -
At your earlist convenience, please send me more information on the Hanso Foundation, specifically as pertains to the Korean Offshore Project."
I wonder....
There is a new Press Release on the homepage. It's the ad form Hugh that was in the newspaper this week. Just thought you guys might like to know.
I wrote to Hugh's e-mail and got a reply. I went on the assumption (did I read it here or an another site?) that there I am really writing to an e-mail program that will respond to key phrases. I got a response about Bad Twin. The response was specific enough to be a real response to my e-mail but generic enough to seem like a form letter. I think it's legit and plan to ask him more questions. Let me know if you want me to post the responses.
